JEVS Program for Offenders
Too often we see the past predict the future. But we firmly believe that what happened then shouldn’t determine what happens now. JEVS Program for Offenders provides hands-on vocational training and vocational assessment services for pre-trial detainees and sentenced inmates of the Philadelphia Prison System in order to help them successfully transition back to society and find meaningful employment.
Services
- Skills training in building maintenance, customer service, office training, and environmental maintenance
- Re-entry and other services through JEVS in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Prison Society, Impact Services, and PA CareerLink
- Job application, résumé, and job interview preparation
- Assessment of interests, skills, and abilities to match employment possibilities through CareerScope® and other tools
Eligibility
Pre-trial detainees and sentenced inmates of the Philadelphia Prison System.
Enrollment
Participants must be referred by prison social workers.
Cost
There is no cost for these services.
