While many things have changed at JEVS over the years, one thing remains the same: our mission to enhance the employability, independence and quality of life of individuals who face challenges and need our help.

As we celebrate our 75th Anniversary, we would like to look at all we have accomplished in the past and all that we can do in the future to serve more people in need. On March 27, 2017, we will host a 75th Anniversary Gala at the Hyatt at the Bellevue. In addition to celebrating JEVS, we will honor philanthropists Vivian and Oscar (Ossie) Lasko and Family, who have generously underwritten our Lasko College Prep Program for youth and supported the development and construction of the JEVS’ Orleans Technical College campus at Red Lion Road in Northeast Philadelphia.

Broadway Entertainers to Headline Event

Our special entertainment for the event will feature Benj Pasek and Ben Platt from the Broadway smash Dear Evan Hansen. Pasek, of the Tony/Emmy-nominated songwriting team Pasek and Paul, is the talented son of past JEVS Board Chair Jeff Pasek. And many people will recognize actor and singer Ben Platt from the Pitch Perfect films.

Dear Evan Hansen is a powerful story of teenage angst, about youth with many of the same struggles as the youth we serve here at JEVS. All the more fitting to have the young lyricist and star of Dear Evan Hansen headlining our event. Read the “New York Times” review of Dear Evan Hansen from December 5, 2016, here.

As we look toward the future, we are focused on working with young people and getting them the skills they need to succeed. Imagine a time where there are abundant opportunities for youth, when no young person feels confined by their circumstances and the transition to independence is made easier. This is the future we dream of and hope that you will celebrate with us on March 27th.
