JEVS Career Strategies Women’s Seder was created 11 years ago to add an element of spirituality and community to the career programming provided by JEVS for unemployed and underemployed women. Many of these female clients are isolated from community support of any type, and the Seder provides an opportunity to network with other women, and to reach out to others.

The 11th Annual Seder will take place on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 5pm at the Green Valley Country Club in Lafayette Hill, PA. This year’s special guest, award winning author Rachel Simon, will deliver remarks to offer inspiration to the women attending. A long-time friend of our organization, Simon has participated in several events with JEVS where she has discussed her work and issues regarding diversity and disability.

Rabbi Margot Stein, the Music and Liturgy Resource Specialist at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, will be officiating at this year’s Seder.

In addition to an evening of sisterhood and song, the JEVS Women’s Seder raises money to support the Emergency Fund of the Career Strategies Program. These funds support women and families in our community when they need help paying rent, obtaining necessary medications, covering the costs of childcare, clothing and so much more.
