One of the most significant nights for high school seniors is their prom. It is a rite of passage that celebrates the successful completion of high school and the excitement of new beginnings. Memories from this night last a lifetime, but many young people never experience this important milestone.

The young members at our E3 Power Center City have faced many difficult challenges in their lives. For a variety of reasons, they did not complete high school and are now working hard to obtain their diploma, gain work experience and plan for their futures.

“At E3, I have been reminded how to continue something and not just quit,” said Lee, an E3 member.

The idea for a prom came from the E3 members themselves. The program’s Member Council, which is similar to a school student council, is active in planning events and working with staff to improve services and create incentives for the members. The number one wish of the students is to have their own prom.

“It would be a new experience for us and something you can remember for a lifetime,” said Zy’kir, an E3 member.

The E3 Prom will take place at the Ethical Society on Rittenhouse Square on May 11, 2016, for 60 members of the E3 graduating class. It is hard to imagine the obstacles these young people have overcome, and JEVS’ goal is to make this evening as special as possible for the students. With limited resources to pay for all of the items that every young person would like for prom, we have reached out to local businesses and individuals for help. The response has been overwhelming.

We would like to thank the following businesses for donating items to help make this prom a wonderful experience for our E3 members:

Revivals Boutique in Narberth
Frankford Candy
Saks Fifth Avenue
NARS Cosmetics
John Barton Company
One 2 One Productions

This night would not be possible without your support! If you would like to make a donation in support of the E3 Prom, visit and be sure to designate your gift as PROM in the gift information box.  A gift of $20 will cover the admission of one E3 member, and a gift of $40 will cover the cost of a couple.

Thank you for helping us make prom happen!
