On April 26, 2017, young students from JEVS’ E3 Power Center City, The Choice is Yours and Project WOW programs gathered together to experience the prom night they never thought they would have. The room at the Double Tree Hotel on South Broad Street was transformed into “A Night in Paris” for the youth celebrating their educational milestones and overcoming the obstacles that stood in their way of a brighter future.
While many people tend to take a high school diploma for granted, this is not the case for these young people who, for a variety of reasons, never completed high school. But with help from JEVS Human Services, most have completed or are nearing completion of a GED. This prom was a celebration of the independence, accomplishment and new beginnings that this milestone signifies.
We would like to thank the many generous supporters who donated beautiful prom attire and accessories for the students. In addition, we greatly appreciate Nature’s Gallery Florist and Frankford Candy for donating flowers and candy for everyone. With your help, our youth clients were able to (finally) have this very special once-in-a-lifetime experience!
