On Thursday, Oct. 8, JEVS Human Services hosted its annual Strictly Business awards luncheon at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel in Center City.

The 17th annual event was a fundraiser; about $195,000 was raised before the event began, and about 600 attendees pledged over $21,000 during the event, thanks to encouragement from JEVS board member Benjamin Zuckerman and a live feed recording attendees’ texted-in pledges.

Otherwise, though, the focus of the day was JEVS’ awardees.  To learn the story of one of our Inspiration Award winners, Anthony Steckley, read more in the Northeast Times.
