Welfare-to-Work Programs

Maximizing Participation Project

As an organization, our goal is to improve individuals' self-sufficiency and thereby enhance the quality of life of all residents of the Delaware Valley. Our Maximizing Participation Project (MPP) is designed for individuals who are receiving cash assistance and nearing, or have exceeded, their five-year lifetime limit for assistance, and are in need of specific help overcoming obstacles to self-sufficiency.

Services

  • Intensive one-on-one case management and facilitation of services by a trained case coordinator
  • Identification of obstacles and/or disabilities through comprehensive assessment
  • Individualized service plans
  • Team support on issues including drug and alcohol, behavioral health, education, and vocational challenges
  • Job search and placement assistance and support

Eligibility

Individuals on cash assistance (TANF) who are exempt from work requirements because of a verified physical or behavioral health barrier.

Enrollment

Customers must be referred directly from the Philadelphia County Assistance Office (CAO).

Northeast EARN Center (Employment Advancement Retention Network)

Through EARN (Employment Advancement Retention Network), JEVS Human Services provides a range of services for individuals who are receiving Public Assistance benefits and are in need of employment services in order to achieve long-term activity in the workforce.

Services

  • Job search, placement, and retention assistance and support
  • Consistent one-on-one case management and facilitation of services by a trained employment advisor
  • Individualized employment development plans
  • Referrals to education and training opportunities
  • Identification of obstacles and/or disabilities through comprehensive assessment

Eligibility

  • Must be age 18 or older
  • Food stamp-only customers
  • TANF customers
  • Non-TANF customers
  • Extended TANF customers

Enrollment

Customers must be referred directly from the Philadelphia County Assistance Office (CAO).
