Meet Zoya, our Director of the Center for New Americans, where she has worked for JEVS for 32 years helping refugees, asylees and victims of trafficking. She herself was a refugee from the Soviet Union and, therefore, shares the welcoming spirit she felt upon arriving in the United States with individuals fleeing conflict in their home countries. Zoya and her team diligently help families to navigate the challenges of securing employment, housing, education, as well as learning about a new, safe life here in the Philadelphia region.
In January 2021, Zoya was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the state for her valuable contributions to refugee resettlement services in Pennsylvania.
