Meet Vy Le, a community support counselor in the Independence Network who was instrumental in adapting a mostly in-person program to virtual so that JEVS could continue to provide services to individuals with special needs during the pandemic. “It was nice to utilize my skills to help connect members to each other, their families. It’s nice seeing this happen for them especially with the isolation and quarantine that came with pandemic.” Vy Le played a significant part in empowering these young adults with their career path and choices. Vy recently won a Direct Support Professional Heroes Award from the New Jersey Association of Community Providers for going above and beyond the call of duty in the face of the global health crisis.
