Orleans Technical College offers job training programs to help people in the Greater Philadelphia area gain the career skills they need to get a job in the building trades and healthcare industries.

Building Trades

  • Hands-on career training and career preparation for entry-level positions in: Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating; Plumbing and Heating; Building Maintenance; Residential and Commercial Electricity; and Carpentry
  • Full-time day classes and part-time evening classes
  • Job placement assistance
  • Training in use of equipment, machines, and technology
  • Personal support including advising, tutoring, and referrals to appropriate resources for assistance with barriers to completion
  • Résumé and job interview preparation
  • Continuing job search service as a resource to help graduates with job replacement and advancement as needed
  • Customized training for businesses


  • 25-week program and 5-week externship with employer partners
  • Comprehensive classroom training and hands-on practical assignments
  • Full-time day classes and part-time evening classes
  • Dedicated staff support from application to program completion, including assistance with financial aid and job connections.
  • Industry-recognized credentials:
    • Certified Medical Assistant-National Healthcare Association (NHA)
    • Certified Phlebotomy Technician-National Healthcare Association (NHA)
    • Certified EKG Technician-National Healthcare Association (NHA)
    • CPR/AED Certified for Healthcare Workers (American Heart Association)


Must have a high school diploma or GED and meet minimum score requirements on admissions assessment tests in reading and math.


Financial aid available for those who qualify; Orleans is approved for veterans’ education benefits.
