hireAbility summer interns work in the cat room at the Animal Adoption Center in Lindenwold, NJ.

Before attending Camden County College this Fall, hireAbility participants Keighley and Romell, learned on-the-job skills as interns at the Animal Adoption Center in Lindenwold, NJ.

Selected for the summer internship by their DVRS counselor, they began their internships in July and completed  100 hours each under the internship program. Romell worked 20 – 25 hours a week at the adoption center and is hoping to continue on-the-job training after the summer internship.

The students select their interests and complete a Career Cluster to ensure that they understand the duties, schooling, etc., for the various fields that they are interested in.

JEVS hireAbility is an affiliate agency of JEVS Human Services that offers an empowering, customized employment program to assist individuals living with a disability or chronic disease by preparing them for competitive employment and community integration.
