JEVS Project WoW (World of Work) is a FREE program that offers 22-weeks of skills training, High School Diploma Completion support, and job placement assistance for young adults in Philadelphia.

The program, available to eligible individuals who want to earn a High School Diploma, provides hands-on training in building trades or as a Certified Production Technician. Our employment specialists help graduates find jobs and start new careers.

They also provide support for identifying paid internships, leadership training, and potential scholarship funds.

Program Details

  • Hands-on, basic training in one of two program options
    • Property Maintenance and Repair (such as carpentry, plumbing, and electrical) for individuals aged 17-24 or
    • Certified Production Technician for individuals aged 18-24
  • Trainings will be held on site
  • Job search assistance with help from a job coach
  • Monthly transportation allowance
  • Potential scholarship funding (for OTC, CCP, etc.)
  • Paid OSHA certifications
  • Transpass support during follow up year
  • Trips to visit employers, colleges

Eligibility

  • Philadelphia resident
  • Do not have a high school diploma a
  • Must be age 18 – 24
  • Meet income eligibility requirements

Cost

  • No cost to eligible participants.
  • The Project WoW PMR program is supported by the Department of Labor. A total of $9,167, or two percent of Project WoW PMR will be financed with federal funds, and $375,540, or 98 percent will be funded by other sources.
  • The Project WoW CPT lead support provided by the William Penn Foundation.
