Meet Isiah McCloud: Project WOW Participant and JEVS Human Services Strictly Business Inspiration Award Winner 2019

In high school, Isiah spent more time in suspension than in class. He dropped out and worked a series of low-wage fast food jobs before realizing he needed to get his high school diploma to move ahead. He found JEVS Project WOW and thrived in the supportive environment, earning a high school diploma and property maintenance credentials.

Our Students in Action

WOW

Project WOW students volunteer in the community helping to rehab neighborhood homes in dire need of repairs.

Teaching Skills

The program focuses on teaching students skills in the building trades (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, weatherization), so they can prepare for the world of work.

We also teach skills in the high-demand computer technology field by preparing students with knowledge of computer basics, literacy and some hardware repair.

Our students work together to complete class projects that help them to gain hands-on skills working inside and outside of the home.

Study

Within the program, students spend time preparing for the various sections of the GED test.
